Milestones

In 1993 there was a huge earthquake in Khillari, Latur. The Rotary club of Birmingham and Rotary club of Pune idealized the concept of trauma center for Pune but could make no great progress due to lack of Infrastructure & skilled personal. They chose Ruby Hall Clinic in 1997, but still nothing happened until 1999 when I got involved & took the initiative to bring together 5 partners to make this project possible.

For 2 years we sent staff from Ruby AHall CliniHa; Hall Clinic to England to train & the trauma center was established in 2002.

Later on it was realized that most of the trauma victims reach to us after 8-10 days and the concept of the golden hour was futile. So pre-hospital care, community education & Disaster management was added as the other objective along with trauma center.

The whole project was labeled as "Saving Lives" for the same we received grants of Rs. 40 lacks from Rotary international, 2 corers worth of training & mannequin equipment from the West Midland Ambulance Services, England.
